This had me laughing

Today’s assignment in our ‘create something every day for 365 days’ book was to write a 10 word love story, and as a bonus, illustrate it!   Now when I read that my mind immediately started to mull over how to evoke strong emotions in 10 words.   How do you express real love – what can you say?   (I tend toward the sappy romantic in these things, which is going to become very apparent in just a moment.)

Maya sat down and created hers in about 5 minutes, and I have to say, I love what she did and feel that both of our efforts are very revealing about certain aspects of our characters.   (Guess who tends toward ‘dark humor’?)

So first, here’s mine:

Oops, did you get any of the oozing sap on you?   And now, here’s Maya’s:

“They almost got married, but then he got buried.  Sad!”   Ha ha!  And how about the illustrations, of the happy couple and then the guy with his coffin?    The juxtaposition is perfect.

On a completely different note, and I may have mentioned this in the past, I LOVE going to the movies.  And I love going to the movies with Joshua.  He will see anything I want to see, except period pieces (which means I am going to see “Jane Eyre” this week by myself.  Which I also love to do, because then I don’t have to worry about anyone else and I can sit close to the front so that the screen fills my entire field of vision).   He never disputes my choice or argues loudly with me about where to sit.   Tonight we saw “The Lincoln Lawyer” with Matthew McConaughey,  and in my opinion Matthew should always do films where he plays an attorney.  He was fantastic, and the cast overall was great.  Marisa Tomei, William H. Macy, even Ryan Phillippe.  Go see it!
