Wisdom from Sandra Dodd & Pam Sorooshian

A friend of mine who has decided to take her son out of school next year (can I get a big “Woohoo!  Way to go!” for her?) told me that during a mild panic attack yesterday evening about how she would manage to unschool, she found this piece from Sandra Dodd.  Reading it, the panic subsided.  I hadn’t read it in a while, and when I did I thought, “Everyone should read this, even if they’ve read it before.  Even if they’ve read it 100 times.”

It is always wonderful to hear Sandra’s reassuring voice resonating through her words as clearly as if she was sitting in your living room, joining you in a cup of coffee.     So for your enjoyment, reassurance and inspiration, here is Sandra on “Precisely How to Unschool.”

Then, if you’re reading Sandra, it’s always a good idea to check in with Pam Sorooshian as well.  I cannot tell you how many times I’ve read Pam’s writing on unschooling math, or unschooling and TV, but tonight I want to share something she sent to Sandra, which Sandra then titled “How to be a Good Unschooler.”

You’re welcome.
